THE REAL DEAL...

Drums sampled off vinyl changed the landscape of music forever - laying the groundwork for hip hop, house, and countless other sample-based music styles. Like tape, the vinyl medium can automatically make drums sound really good!

But going through a stack of records can be time consuming and tedious. Where can you find the fattest drums anyway?

HOW IT WAS MADE...

Over the years, I recorded tons of vinyl drums through my analog gear (Shure M44-7, Technics SL-1200, Vestax PMC-05, Moog Sub 37). After selecting my favorite samples of the bunch, I lightly applied some effects to add body and warmth to the sound.

After creating this collection of tasteful one shots (so you don't have to), I found the drums to be an extremely versatile selection of sound that is compatible with many music styles.

You'll get everything from clean, dead and dry, classic vinyl drums, to dusty and degraded, punchy, warm drums with lots of character. I also included a few of my own drum breaks, designed from scratch. Enjoy!

*Legacy MPCs (2500, 5000, 1000, 500, 4000, 2000XL, etc) can only read 16-bit wav files. A 16-bit version of the kit is included in the zip file for legacy MPC users.
